IPG Mediabrands, the media and marketing solutions division of Interpublic Group, names Rahel Rasu global chief communications officer. Rasu rejoins IPG from DDB Worldwide, where she was head of global communications. Rasu was previously with IPG as president of global communications at McCann Worldgroup. At IPG Mediabrands, she will be responsible for driving internal and external communications strategy, with responsibility over corporate brand and reputation management, thought leadership, media relations, social media, analyst and influencer relations, employee communications and corporate social responsibility. “Rahel understands the power of culture and believes in communications that support our people, our clients, our brands and our values,” said IPG Mediabrands Global CEO Daryl Lee. “Her partnership across the organization will be invaluable as we continue to share our vision for a tech-supported but humanity-centered media future.”

Weber Shandwick appoints Ciro Sarmiento as chief creative officer of Weber Shandwick New York. Sarmiento joins the agency from Dieste, where he also served as chief creative officer. He was previously creative director at Leo Burnett Lapiz, LatinWorks and Ogilvy. Sarmiento has led integrated campaigns for such companies as Anheuser-Busch, Coca-Cola, Gillette, GlaxoSmithKline, Kellogg, Mars, Mattel, Procter and Gamble and Unilever. At Weber Shandwick, he is tasked with elevating and driving earned-first creative work for clients, and overseeing a team of creatives in the New York office. “Ciro has the right mix of creative chops, leadership and teambuilding that will supercharge our ability to deliver the very best of Weber Shandwick to our clients,” said Weber Shandwick New York general manager Michael Wehman.

Clyde Group hires Contessa Kellogg-Winters as senior vice president. Lauren Hovey and Jenny Wang are joining the agency as vice presidents. Kellogg-Winters was most recently communications director at the Aquaculture Stewardship Council. Earlier in her career, she served as communications director for both Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) and Rep. Max Sandlin (D-TX). Hovey joins Clyde Group from Hundred Stories PR, where she served as vice president. She was previously an associate vice president at Rubinstein Public Relations. Wang comes to the agency from kglobal, where she was a vice president. She has also worked at Raffeto Herman Strategic Communications, Ketchum and The Harbour Group. “Contessa, Lauren, and Jenny will each be integral to furthering Clyde Group’s vision to be the best agency to work with, and the best agency to work for,” Clyde Group founding partner Alex Slater. “Their decades of combined expertise is exactly what we need to support our growing client roster, particularly our DE&I and healthcare practices.”
