Quincy, a city of about 100K people that is part of metro Boston, is looking for a firm to handle community engagement ahead of the potential rollout of a broadband system.
The goal of the PR outreach is to achieve a minimum 40 percent “take-rate” of the municipal fiber network among homes and businesses to ensure the system would be operationally sustainable.
The firm will drive "the core message of broadband as a utility that will support an environment of choice and subscriber control,” according to the RFP.
It will engage in grassroots engagement (open houses, webinars, neighborhood canvassing) and identify “fiber champions” who will talk up neighbors about the benefits of broadband.
Proposals are due April 15. They go to:
City Hall, Purchasing Department
1305 Hancock Street
