MDC Partners hires Michaela Pewarski as VP-investor relations. Pewarski joins MDC from artificial intelligence company Afiniti, where she served as director of investor relations, FP&A, and corporate development. She previously worked for Macquarie Capital as a vice president in its equities sales division, where she managed the bank’s relationship with institutional investors in the New York and Mid-Atlantic regions. In her new role, Pewarski will manage all aspects of shareholder relations and drive a strategic investor relations program focused on building and maintaining MDC Partners’ relationships with buy-side investors and sell-side analysts. “We’re transforming MDC to lead the way in creative innovation and digital transformation, to bring clients what they need to thrive and provide growth and opportunity for all our constituents,” said MDC Partners chairman and CEO Mark Penn’
MP&F Strategic Communications brings on Tom Cocke as copy director in its creative services department. Cocke comes to MP&F from Nashville-based The Buntin Group, where he was senior vice president, group creative director. He previously worked as a copywriter for both BBDO and TracyLocke. “His exceptional skillset and personality, partnered with his dedication to the industry, make him a tremendous addition to any team,” said MP&F managing partner Alice Chapman.
MTV Entertainment Group names Jason White chief marketing officer. White comes to MTV from cannabis company Curaleaf, where he also served as CMO. He has served as global head of marketing at Beats by Dr. Dre, and was managing director of Wieden + Kennedy’s Shanghai office. In his new position, White is charged with overseeing marketing for all of MTV Entertainment Group’s propertiesm which include Paramount Network, CMT, VH1, TV Land and Logo. He will also work to develop campaigns to drive subscriber growth and brand enrichment, as well as issue-oriented efforts. He will report to MTV Entertainment Group president Chris McCarthy, and serve on his leadership team.
