FINN Partners is partnering with TikTok on a social media campaign to help raise awareness and funding for The Skatepark Project, a nonprofit organization founded by professional skateboarder Tony Hawk that helps underserved communities create safe and inclusive public skateparks for youth.
The project is part of the organization’s celebration of “Go Skateboarding Day” on June 21, which is focused on both drawing attention to The Skatepark Project and getting people to try out the sport for themselves
Finn is facilitating social media efforts, with help from Hawk and TikTok’s skate creators, for #GSDTrickTips2021, a series of educational videos. The content of those videos features pro skaters providing insider knowledge on how to land a few beginner-to-advanced tricks—encouraging people to get outside, go skateboarding, and attempt a trick using the relevant hashtag.
In addition to the videos, the celebration will feature a livestream (@theskateparkproject on TikTok) that will give participants to “meet” skaters and donate to the organization.
Founded in 2002 as the Tony Hawk Foundation, the organization was renamed as The Skateboard Project in 2020 to more closely reflect the work it does. The Skateboard Project has awarded more than $10 million to help create public skateparks, funding 637 skatepark projects in all 50 states.
