Apollo Communications handles PR for Morabito Consultants, the structural engineering firm that was hired in 2018 by Champlain Towers South Condominium Assn. to prepare a 40-year recertification report for the building that collapsed in Surfside, FL on June 24.
That report detailed significant cracks and breaks in the concrete, which required repairs to ensure the safety of the residents.
The Assn. rehired Morabito on June 22 to prepare a “40-year building repair and restoration plan,” which was underway at the time of the building collapse.
Morabito says its “hearts and prayers go out to everyone affected” by the event and expressed deep gratitude to the first responders and search and rescue team. It also is working with investigating authorities to understand when the building failed.
Apollo president Brett Marcy handles Morabito.
He launched the Harrisburg-based firm in November 2020 after serving as director of PR & communications at WellSpan Health, communications director for Pennsylvania’s General Assembly and associate VP at Tierney Communications.
