The Kansas City Chiefs hire Lara Krug as executive VP and CMO, a newly created position. Krug comes to the Chiefs from Stella Artois, where she was VP of US marketing. She has also served as global director, experiential marketing for Anheuser-Busch and associate VP of global digital marketing for L’Oréal. In her new post, Krug will oversee all club marketing functions, including brand marketing, community outreach, digital, social and website operations, event entertainment and content production. "Her track record of success in brand marketing across multiple industries gives us confidence that her voice and expertise will be extremely beneficial for our organization,” said Chief president Mark Donovan. “Lara is going to help us continue to build the Chiefs brand locally, regionally, nationally and internationally."

The Big Ten Conference names Jon Schwartz senior vice president of communications, marketing, digital and social media. Schwartz joins the Big Ten from the NFL, where he served as senior vice president, communications and public affairs. His previous positions include managing director, integrated marketing communications at NASCAR and vice president, global media relations at Bank of America. Schwartz will serve as the primary communications and marketing liaison for the conference's 14 member institutions, NCAA, Autonomy Five, College Football Playoff, public policy agencies, broadcast and community partners, and the media. He will report to Big Ten Conference commissioner Kevin Warren. “He brings strategic management skills, a service-oriented mindset and team building to our conference, our member institutions and our partners,” said Warren.

The Public Affairs Council promotes Alaina Monismith to senior manager of communications and media relations. Monismith joined the Council in 2018, previously serving as communications and marketing manager. Before that, she was a communications specialist at the Alliance of Community Health Plans. In her new role, Monismith will continue to elevate the Council as a thought leader in the field, expanding its reach and breadth of media relationships. “Since joining the Council, Alaina has done an excellent job bringing attention to the important role of public affairs in business and government, garnering increased coverage across both business and political outlets, and establishing the Council as a trusted, go-to source,” said senior director of marketing and communications Laura Horsley.
