Lazard Asset Management hires Joanne Choi as a managing director and chief marketing officer, effective immediately. Choi joins Lazard from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where she was head of global marketing. She is responsible for Lazard's marketing efforts and brand strategy across its global asset management client base and will drive commercial opportunities through strategic marketing communications programs. "Joanne not only has the relevant experience, but she understands the intricacies of our business and ways to position our strategies to best meet the needs of our clients," said LAM chief business officer Nathan Paul.

Julian Duncan |
The Houston Rockets appoints Julian Duncan chief marketing & strategy officer. Duncan most recently served as chief marketing officer and senior vice president of social responsibility for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Before that, he was head of global brand/advertising at Under Armour and held various brand management posts at Nike. Duncan will direct the Rockets’ marketing, promotional and branding efforts, as well as overseeing fan experience, digital content, retail and community engagement. “Julian has a proven track record for brand innovation and leadership,” said Rockets president of business operations Gretchen Sheirr. “We believe Julian’s impact will resonate not only within our organization and fanbase but throughout the Houston community.”

Mercer Advisors names Gary Foodim chief marketing officer. Foodim joins the company from Buffalo, NY-based Strategic Financial Solutions. He was previously vice president, consumer marketing at Condé Nast, where he oversaw consumer marketing for brands including The New Yorker and Vogue, as well as digital consumer marketing and retention marketing for all Condé Nast brands. Foodim will join Mercer Advisors' senior leadership team and lead all aspects of its organic growth initiatives. Karen Lee, Mercer Advisors' current chief marketing and strategy officer, has been promoted to chief business solutions officer.
