Brunswick Group hires CNN Business vice president and general manager Jason Farkas as a partner in the firm’s New York office, effective Jan. 3. At CNN, Farkas has also held senior roles with CNN Digital Video, CNN’s Reliable Sources and CNNVR, deploying new technologies and business models across the network. He has also served as an executive producer at Bloomberg and a senior producer at CNBC. “Jason has deep experience in both the business and editorial sides of the media industry,” said Brunswick Group CEP Neal Wolin. “That combination of commercial and media relations expertise positions him well to provide clients with strategic advice on a wide range of critical issues—in the Americas and beyond.”

Hill+Knowlton Strategies names Guillaume Klossa senior vice president, European affairs. Most recently, Klossa was director of the European Broadcasting Union, where he led strategy, public affairs, communications, global events and transformative programs. Prior to that, he was executive vice president for McDonald’s France, overseeing public and governmental affairs, communications and sustainable development. He has also served as a special adviser to Andrus Ansip, former vice president of the European Commission in charge of the Digital Single Market. At H+K, Klossa will be based in Brussels, and will focus on supporting clients’ business opportunities arising from ongoing digital transformation. “Guillaume brings a rare national, regional and global outlook that truly fits our clients’ needs, at a time when governments are playing a larger role in business outcomes than ever before,” said H+K global chair of public affairs Philippe Maze-Sencier.

Stratacomm brings on David Ocamb as vice president of research, planning and strategy, a newly created role. Ocamb joins the agency from GDC Marketing & Ideation, where he was chief planning and research officer. He was previously account director and project manager at Sherry Matthews Advocacy Marketing and has been director of the Sierra Club’s Oklahoma chapter. At Stratacomm, Ocamb will conduct market research to help inform advertising and integrated communications campaigns, analyze the findings to create actionable insights, and create opportunities for Stratacomm’s clients to deepen relationships with target audiences. “David brings a new set of skills in-house for our team that allow us to customize research solutions to help clients achieve their most pressing objectives,” said Stratacomm senior partner Travis Austin.
