Michael Steel, partner at Hamilton Place Strategies, will join the Business Roundtable next month as senior VP-communications. He will oversee message development, media relations, digital engagement and marketing.

Steel will report to Kristin Silverberg, who will become BR’s president & COO on Jan. 3. The executive VP-policy will succeed Marcus Peacock, who is retiring.

Before working on Capitol Hill, Steel was a correspondent for the National Journal.

Joshua Bolton, BR CEO, called Steel a highly respected communicator who will “bring deep expertise and strategic insight to the Roundtable’s mission of promoting a thriving U.S. economy and expanded opportunity for all Americans.”
