5W Public Relations names BCW's Carolina Lopez Herz SVP & GM and of its Miami office. Lopez Herz joins the agency from BCW, where she most recently served as a senior vp. In her new role, she will focus on further developing the agency's expansion throughout Miami, Florida and the Southeast region of the United States. She will also provide guidance and counsel to 5W clients. "Her deep understanding of the landscape along with her initiative makes her a fantastic fit for 5W," said 5W PR founder and CEO Ronn Torossian. 5W announced their plans to open a Miami office space in the spring of 2021.
Subject Matter adds Rebecca Shaw, chief of staff for Rep. Trey Hollingsworth (R-IN) and prior deputy chief of staff for former Rep. Chris Gibson (R-NY), to its government relations team. On Hollingsworth’s staff, Shaw oversaw legislative and political operations. She has also served on the Republican National Convention Committee on Arrangements, as chief of the GOP block in 2020 and a member of the external affairs division in 2016. “Rebecca’s expertise in member decisions and communications, management of large and small teams, and passion for achieving stakeholder goals make her crucial to our firm,” said Subject Matter partner Steve Elmendorf.
Feldman Strategies hires Emma Thomas as director. Thomas joins the firm from BerlinRosen, where she served as account director, securing thought leadership opportunities for political leaders and leading multi-organizational coalitions in the paid leave and reproductive rights spaces.
