Iuliia Mendel, who served as press secretary for Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky from 2019 to 2021, will release a book called “The Fight Of Our Lives” in September, published by Simon & Schuster’s One Signal Publishers.
It will cover the many meetings between Zelensky and Putin that Mendel attended, fielding media inquiries about phone calls between Zelensky and Donald Trump that led to his first impeachment and visiting the front lines in Donbas, which Russia invaded in 2014.
Mendel, 35, will shed light on Zelensky’s effort to transform Ukraine’s economy, battle corrupt oligarchs and counter misinformation from the Kremlin.
She will also detail life in 2012 under Russian bombardment and saying goodbye to her fiance as he departed to join the Ukrainian military effort.
Mendel worked as a print and TV journalist for 14 years and has contributed to the New York Times, Washington Post, Vice and Politico Europe.
