Amanda Russo, head of media content at the World Economic Forum, has joined the Crypto Council for Innovation as director of communications.
Established a year ago, the DC-based group aims to demonstrate the “transformational promise” of crypto and communicate its benefits to policymakers, regulators and the public.
Members include Coinbase, Fidelity Digital Assets, Andreesen Horowitz, Ribbit Capital, Gemini and Paradigm.
At the WEF, Russo handled communications strategies and messaging and pitched projects in areas such as blockchain, cybersecurity, finance and artificial intelligence.
She also did a stint as public engagement lead for WEF’s Centre for Fourth Industrial Revolution network, which works on game-changing technologies and designs policies to scale them around the world.
Before joining the WEF in 2017, Russo was senior manager for corporate communications at IHS in London and head of corporate communications at Exclusive Analysis.
The Council also has brought on former Republican Colorado Senator Cory Gardner as chief strategist of political affairs.
Steve Rice, who served as director of political mobilization for Boeing, joins DC-based bipartisan public affairs and strategic communications firm The Herald Group as SVP, overseeing its grasstops and 50-state field operations. 
Qorvis has named Victor Shiblie senior advisor to boost its international network and global business opportunities.
Pierre DuBois has taken the VP-public affairs post at AIB Data Centers, developer of the digital infrastructure for AI hosting and high-performance computing workloads.
Allison Worldwide names Victoria Brophy EVP, head of corporate and technology in Europe. Brophy comes to the firm from Golin Ketchum London, where as EVP she built and led the London Corporate Affairs practice... 
Signal Group, a DC-based public affairs firm, hires Josie Feron as director. Feron was most recently communications director for the Office of Congresswoman Deborah Ross (D-NC)... Moburst, a mobile-first digital agency driven by a proprietary AI program, appoints Etgar Shpivak as VP of marketing...
