The Next Solutions Group names Dan Childs as managing director, head of global media engagement. Childs comes to Next from Porter Novelli, where he served as senior vice president of healthcare media relations. He was previously director, US external communications at Bayer, and before that was managing editor of ABC News’s medical unit. “Dan’s strong combination of experiences as a senior journalist at ABC News, along with his strong corporate experiences at Bayer and his consultancy experiences, offers our client partners a unique perspective in corporate reputation and issues management,”said The Next Solutions Group CEO Raymond F. NP Digital, a performance marketing firm, brings on Michelle Scully as vice president of human resources. Scully was most recently vp of people of culture for global data and technology company Choreograph. She has also served as director of HR at Wunderman. At NP Digital, Scully will spearhead global human resources initiatives to unify the agency as well as oversee regional policies and employee experiences. “Michelle understands the intricacies of an agency in global growth mode, and we could not be more excited to have her leadership on the team,” said NP Digital chief executive officer Mike Gullaksen.
National Vision Holdings hires Joe VanDette as chief marketing officer. VanDette was previously chief marketing and digital executive for Smart & Final, a chain of grocery warehouse stores. He has also held leadership roles in marketing, strategy, and consumer analytics for Toys ‘R Us. In his new post, VanDette be responsible for leading the organization’s marketing function including strategic brand management, CRM, advertising and media, digital marketing, e-commerce and research/insights. “Joe is a talented individual with an impressive track record of using data driven customer-centric approaches to drive business expansion,” said National Vision CEO Reade Fahs.
