Esther Buchsbaum, co-founder of Canada's energi PR, died May 14 after a battle with glioblastoma. She was 65.
Buchsbaum began her career at Grey Advertising, handling client services duties for Air France, Avis and Sheraton Hotels.
She co-founded Communications MECA, which later became energi PR in 1990, with her friend and business partner Carol Levine. Levine is energi PR's CEO.
Buchsbaum, who specialized in corporate communications, reputation management, crisis PR and cause marketing, counseled Hilton Canada, P&G, Burger King Canada, Lufthansa, Visit Orlando and Melitta.
Energi PR was the first independently-owned Canadian PR firm to have bilingual offices in Toronto and Montreal.

Frank Ramos, who headed the PR department for the doomed-to-fail New York Jets for 39 years, died on Jan. 27. He was 87.

Kassie Canter, a media and entertainment PR veteran, died October 24 in New York. She was 67.
Leo Pearlstein, the “king of culinary PR,” died on Sept. 10 in Los Angeles at the age of 104.
