Zapwater Communications names Amanda ReCupido managing director, Chicago. ReCupido comes to Zapwater from Public Communications Inc., where she most recently served as senior vice president, overseeing the agency’s nonprofit sector of business. She was previously publicity manager at Goodman Theatre and Time Out Chicago. “For Zapwater to continue to scale, we understand that we need to add leaders with Amanda’s experience and pedigree to help us get there,” said Zapwater CEO David Zapata. “I have full confidence in Amanda to step into the managing director role, take the reins, and help take Zapwater Chicago to the next level.”

BAERING, a Raleigh, NC-based firm, hires Christa Miller as director of public relations. Miller most recently served as principal communications strategist at analytics software developer SAS. She has also worked at G&S Business Communications and held senior communications posts at ADAMA US and RBC Bank. In her new post, Miller is charged with ensuring successful execution of all strategic public relations, content, media relations and social media campaigns. “Christa brings the perfect combination of communications expertise, agency experience and leadership to our firm,” said BAERING chairman Robert Buhler.

EDO, a data, measurement, and analytics software company appoints Raman Sehgal as its first head of marketing. Sehgal previously served as vice president of marketing for TVision. He is also the founder of consulting, marketing and podcasting company 20 Nickels. As ESO, Sehgal’s responsibilities will include raising the company’s profile, leading marketing strategy, scaling brand awareness, thought leadership, product marketing and sales acceleration, as well as making strategic hires to his full-stack marketing team. “We were looking for a special blend of marketing experience and skills, with an emphasis on brand positioning and storytelling, creative thought leadership and B2B growth, along with strong knowledge of the client base and competitive landscape, and no one fits the bill better than Raman,” said EDO president and CEO Kevin Krim.
