Dow Jones hires Citi's Sherry Weiss as CMO. She was the bank's head of marketing transformation and channel delivery for its personal banking & wealth management group. Weiss has also served as head of loyalty and retention at Jet.com, an e-commerce start-up purchased by Walmart in 2016. At Dow Jones, Weiss will oversee all marketing activities for the company and the Wall Street Journal. “A high-energy, customer-focused marketing leader, Sherry has a passion for creating and delivering marketing programs that drive growth, engagement and retention,” said Dow Jones CEO and WSJ publisher Almar Latour in a statement.

The Washington Commanders names Jean Medina chief communications officer. Medina previously served as vp of communications for Chicago-based energy company ComEd and vp of corporate communications for Exelon, ComEd's parent company. She has also worked as senior vp, communications for trade association Airlines for America and managing director, external communications at United Airlines. In her new post, Medina will oversee internal and external communications, football communications and public affairs. "Jean has built her career being a strategic communications counselor who develops leaders and drives business growth," said Commanders President Jason Wright.

Katz has previously served as a managing director in FTI Consulting’s crisis communications and issues management practice and headed up APCO Worldwide’s Chicago office. Most recently, he was vp, strategic communications & crisis communications at SmithBuckin.
