Momentum Worldwide, a global experiential marketing company that is part of Interpublic Group, promotes Donnalyn Smith to global CEO. Smith has been with the agency since 1995, most recently serving as president of the agency’s North American offices. She succeeds Chris Weil, who will remain as chairman until year-end, and then serve in a consulting capacity through 2023. In addition to overseeing the people, client portfolios and business development opportunities for Momentun in North America, Smith has been an advocate for talent growth, building support systems for working parents at the company, championing industry programs for developing talent pipelines, and building on Momentum’s commitment to female representation. “We’re confident that we will see a smooth transition as she takes on her new role,” said Interpublic Group CEO Philippe Krakowsky.

NP Digital brings on David Hutchinson as vice president of marketplaces, a newly created role that will focus on emerging opportunities in marketplaces as companies such as Amazon, Walmart and Kroger. Hutchinson joins NP Digital from digital-first media agency Brainlabs, where he also served as SVP of marketplaces. Before that, he was co-head of retail media at dentsu international. At NP Digital, he will work to drive further integrations within the digital marketing mix. “David’s proven track record of connecting brand performance across ecommerce, retailers, and marketplace channels will play a significant role in unlocking future areas of expansion for our clients,” said NP Digital CEO Mike Gullaksen.

Gucci names Benjamin Cercio as global communications director. Cercio comes to Gucci from Louis Vuitton, where he most recently served as international director of press, influencer and entertainment. Reporting to Gucci executive VP, chief client and brand officer Susan Chokachi, Cercio will be responsible for all brand communications globally, overseeing PR activities, special events, social media and influencer marketing, as well as art projects, exhibitions and communications for the Gucci Garden and Gucci Archive.
