Pacific Gas and Electric Company names David McCulloch vice president and chief marketing and communications officer. McCulloch comes to PG&E from X, the moonshot factory (the Alphabet subsidiary geared toward developing breakthrough technologies), where he led communications for its efforts to decarbonize the electric grid through advanced simulation and modeling technologies. He has also served as vp, corporate communications & corporate marketing at Hitachi Vantara, chief communications for digital power at GE and executive vp at Text100. In his new role, McCulloch will oversee how PG&E communicates with its 16 million customers in Northern and Central California. He also will oversee PG&E’s marketing efforts to encourage customer participation in programs that promote energy efficiency, provide income-qualified bill discounts, and support electric vehicle owners, among others. “We are excited to bring David aboard as we work to build trust with our customers and hometowns,” said PG&E executive vice president and chief customer officer Marlene Santos.

SWBC, a diversified financial services company, hires Debbie Serot as chief marketing and revenue officer. Serot joins SWBC from Vericast, where she was senior vice president of marketing and communication. She previously held leadership roles with Hemisfair Park Area Redevelopment Corporation, Rackspace Hosting, USAA, AT&T and the San Antonio Spurs. In her new dual role, Serot will oversee all aspects of marketing including brand awareness, demand generation, and product marketing. She will also be responsible for go-to-market strategies. "Her proven ability to increase awareness and drive demand will be of incredible value to the products and services we offer,” said SWBC president and co-founder Gary Dudley.

Elevations Credit Union, a Boulder, CO based financial institution with over $3.3 billion in assets and more than 176,000 members, names Wendy Beswick as chief marketing officer, effective December 12. Beswick was most recently vp of marketing at Service Credit Union, and she has also held executive marketing posts at BlackRock, Charles Schwab and Morgan Stanley. “She’s an expert strategic leader who specializes in building terrific teams that deliver exceptional performance,” said Elevations Credit Union president and CEO Gerry Agnes.
