The Institute for Public Relations names CVS Health VP of communications and customer experience Yanique Woodall as 2023 chair of its board of trustees. MSL U.S. CEO Diana Littman has been elected vice chair, and Brett Ludwig, vice president of communications and public affairs at Lehigh University, has been elected treasurer. Dave Scholz, EVP and partner at Leger, will lead the IPR Behavioral Insights Research Center. All appointments began on Jan. 1. After serving two years as chair, Accenture senior managing director and head of global corporate communications Stacey Jones will now serve as immediate past chair. Public Affairs Council president Doug Pinkham, who previously served as treasurer, and Peppercomm co-founder and CEO Steve Cody, who was immediate past chair, will remain on the board. “Our board elected Yanique, Diana, Brett and Dave because of their passion for research, IPR and the industry. We look forward to their leadership in advancing IPR’s mission and strategic agenda,” said IPR president and CEO Tina McCorkindale.

Pythian Services, a data, analytics and cloud services company, hires Christina O'Reilly as SVP of marketing. O'Reilly was most recently data, analytics and AI marketing leader at EY. She has also held leadership roles at companies including PeopleSoft, Microsoft and SAP. At Pythian, O'Reilly will lead the strategic development, management and execution of the company’s global marketing initiatives in support of its database, analytics and cloud services. “Christina is extremely well-versed in how data and analytics can transform a company by delivering valuable insights,” said Pythian CEO Keith Angell. “She truly understands the data challenges businesses face today and has a meaningful rapport with other industry leaders.”

Burger King picks Patrick O’Toole, who was most recently CMO for PepsiCo’s Mountain Dew brand, to head up its marketing efforts in the US and Canada, effective Feb. 6. O’Toole had been with Pepsi in a series of executive marketing positions since 2008. He previously worked at General Electric and Black & Decker. In his new role, he will be tasked with helping the brand grow its traffic, accelerate sales growth and communicate changes to its customer experience. Burger King North America president said that O’Toole has “the right combination of perspective, experience and expertise to position BK for success in 2023 and beyond.”

Tristra Newyear Yeager, Travis Feaster

Rock Paper Scissors, a music tech PR firm, promotes Tristra Newyear Yeager to chief strategy officer, a newly created role, and brings on Travis Feaster as new business manager. Yeager, who has also been a professional singer and concert presenter, has been with Rock Paper Scissors since 2006, most recently serving as director of strategy. She oversees PR and client services as well as guiding strategic planning. Feaster’s background unites first-hand music industry experience (touring Europe as a guitarist with his band, then managing customer service with Wampler Pedals) with expertise in sales (B2B sales roles at Guitar Center and Boutique Amps Distribution).
