MMGY Global hires Karla Flannery as its first chief marketing officer. Flannery was most recently tourism director for the state of Illinois. She previously served as global marketing director for Mondelez International, overseeing a portfolio of brands that included Oreo, Chips Ahoy! and Halls. Before that, she was an executive vp at Leo Burnett Worldwide. At MMGY, Flannery will lead the company’s global marketing and business development strategies, working to create and drive a unified positioning and narrative across all its operating brands. “Karla’s extensive experience leading strategy for global brands immediately caught our attention, but it was her magnetic energy, vision and optimism that ultimately landed her the role,” said MMGY Global CEO Katie Briscoe.

The American Clinical Laboratory Association names Karen Lancaster associate VP of communications and public affairs. Lancaster was previously assistant VP of external relations at Johns Hopkins University, where she oversaw media relations, internal communications, social media and analytics. She has also served as director of corporate public relations at MedImmune, the global biologics unit of AstraZeneca, and a vice president at Spectrum. In her new position, Lancaster will lead the development of all ACLA messaging and collateral. “Her insights and leadership will be essential as we advance our policy priorities and work to enhance stakeholder appreciation of the value of the clinical laboratory industry in driving patient care,” said ACLA president Susan Van Meter.

Trialbee, a data and technology platform for patient recruitment and enrollment in clinical trials, brings on Kristopher Sarajian as VP of marketing. Sarajian comes to the company from software developer ClinOne, where he also served as vp of marketing. He has also held executive marketing roles at Signant Health and DrugDev. In his new role, Sarajian will be responsible for developing Trialbee’s brand story, thought leadership, sales enablement, and customer engagement. "Kris brings with him a unique blend of marketing expertise and deep knowledge of the clinical trial industry,” said Trialbee CEO Matt Walz.
