The Apollo promotes Fatima Jones to chief marketing and communications officer, a newly created role at the organization. Jones has been with The Apollo since 2018, most recently serving as senior director of marketing and communications. Before coming to The Apollo, she was director of public relations at the Brooklyn Museum. She has also held executive positions at LIU Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. In her new position, Jones will oversee the brand and performance marketing, creative, social media, digital marketing, public relations and communications teams. “From the first day Fatima joined The Apollo, she has offered strategic insights and deft management of marketing and communications, with a keen understanding of both our enormous history as well as our need to be innovative,” said The Apollo president and CEO Jonelle Procope.

Cision names Cali Tran as CEO. Tran was also recently appointed president and CEO of media analytics suite Brandwatch, which is a Cision company. He previously held executive leadership positions at marketing technology companies including Centerfield Media, Vericast and Valassis. At Cision, Tran replaces Platinum Equity managing director Brandon Crawley, who has been serving as interim CEO. (Platinum Equity acquired Cision in 2021.) “Creating a unified leadership position at the top will help us maximize the investments we’ve made to grow the company and identify new ways to create value for our global customers,” said Crawley.
