Steven Soper, a six-year veteran at ExxonMobil who ran its US state government relations practice, has joined FTI Consulting in Dallas.
He takes on the senior managing director slot in FTI’s strategic communications group that posted $287M in revenues during 2022.
Prior to ExxonMobil, Soper spent nearly a decade at Burson-Marsteller’s Direct Impact unit, handling energy, automotive financial services, and retail clients.
He also was deputy regional director of the Bush-Cheney `04 presidential campaign, director of political education at the Republican National Committee and associate director of political affairs at the Bush II White House.
Brian Kennedy, head of the Americas stratcom unit, said Soper has extensive on the ground experience advising clients and leading government, political and corporate communications functions.
Soper will strengthen FTI's ability to help clients navigate complex policy and communications challenges in its fast-growing Texas market, Kennedy added.
