RooneyPartners hires Weld Royal as a senior director. Royal was most recently at DailyFX, the research arm of London brokerage IG, where she served as head of content US & EU. She was previously senior content director at Northwestern Mutual, content director at Panasonic USA, and lead digital editor for the New York Stock Exchange, heading up content strategy for the NYSE equities trading and listings businesses. Royal also serves on the board of the Women’s Center for Entrepreneurship, a nonprofit organization that empowers women to invest in themselves via entrepreneurship. “Weld brings outstanding experience in digital, content, and brand strategy for leaders in finance and technology,” said Len Costa, partner and head of RooneyPartners’ digital and content strategy practices. ‘Her strategic acumen, creative thinking, and track record of building compelling digital experiences promises to further strengthen our capabilities and accelerate the growth of our integrated service offering.”

Biogen appoints Chuck Triano as senior VP, head of investor relations, effective April 10. Triano most recently served as CFO at Xalud Therapeutics. Before that, he was senior VP of investor relations at Pfizer for over a decade, and he has also served as VP of investor relations at Forest Laboratories and managing director at The Carson Group, a financial information organization. “His wealth of experience collaborating with company leaders through periods of strong growth and transition will enhance our continuous efforts to inform investors on our go-forward strategy as we work on our path to sustainable growth,” said Biogen executive VP and CFO Michael McDonnell.

The California Avocado Commission names Terry Splane vice president of marketing. Splane joins the organization from Impossible Foods, where he led channel marketing. He was previously VP of marketing at Ventura Foods and director of marketing at McCormick & Co. “Terry’s deep experience in the fresh food industry and comprehension of multiple distribution channels including retail, club and foodservice, as well as his leadership in strategy, branding, advertising and public relations, align very well with our marketing program,” said California Avocado Commission president Jeff Olberman.
