The US-China Business Council names Karen Elliott VP of strategic communications and publications in its Washington, DC office. Elliott was most recently vp, communications and public affairs at the Entertainment Software Association. She has also reported on legal and political affairs for the PBS NewsHour and Associated Press, and was press secretary to Sen. Charles Robb. “She brings three decades of experience and knowledge working in a range of communications roles as a journalist, a congressional staffer, a strategic communications advisor, and a communications leader for two other DC-based trade associations,” said USCBC president Craig Allen. She succeeds Doug Barry, who had been with USCBC for four years.

The Weber Shandwick Collective promotes Adam Wall to chief integrated operations officer of its North American operations, and hires Jodi Phillips as EVP of analytics + intelligence. Wall, who previously served as head of integrated operations in North America for the firm, will develop business strategies and delivery models for markets and client teams within TWSC, working closely with newly appointed North America CEO, Jim O’Leary. “Adam’s extensive background in both client service and agency operations will enable him to help evolve our business to address emerging client need,” said O’Leary. Phillips was most recently senior VP, intelligence at Publics agency Moxie. In her new post, she will be tasked with bringing data-driven, go-to-market plans and analytics solutions to Weber Shandwick’s portfolio of clients. “Jodi is a leader within the analytics space who understands the growing expectations for how companies show up in a rapidly changing digital environment,” said Weber Shandwick global head of analytics + intelligence Ridhi Malhotra.

O’Donnell joins Haven Tower from Advisor Group, where she was VP, marketing communications, developing and executing corporate communications and marketing programs with an emphasis on driving engagement across multiple external and internal audiences.
