Galvanize Climate Solutions, a climate-focused global investment firm, names Kate Bassett vice president, charged with leading marketing and communications for the organization. Bassett was most recently a VP at Fifth Wall, a venture capital firm focused on technology for the global real estate industry. Before that, she was a member of the corporate communications team at Endeavor. In her new post, Bassett will be responsible for guiding the development and execution of all communications, overseeing the firm’s brand, and advancing the marketing strategy in support of the investment manager’s business objectives. “Kate joins us with a strong strategic marketing and communications background as well as a deep understanding of the climate and investment landscapes,” said Galvanize co-executive chair Tom Steyer, who previously founded and ran global investment firm Farallon Capital Management.

The X Games hires The North Face director of global brand marketing Cara Williamson as its VP of marketing and brand strategy. Before joining The North Face in 2016, Williamson was global brand marketing manager at Burton Snowboards. She is charged with leading the marketing strategy for the action sports events company. Last year, ESPN (which founded the X Games in 1995) sold a majority interest in the company to MSP Sports Capital, a New York-based private equity firm with investments in McLaren Racing Limited and four European soccer teams.

Lincoln Financial Group names Tina Madon senior VP, head of investor relations, effective Oct. 25. Madon joins Lincoln from Focus Financial Partners, where she was SVP, head of investor relations and corporate communications. She was previously head of public markets investor and creditor relations at Och-Ziff Capital Management Group, and before that she led global corporate and finance efforts related to operational efficiencies and investor relations at Merrill Lynch. At Lincoln, Madon will focus on enhancing Lincoln’s investor relations strategy, as well as managing the communications and interactions with shareholders, analysts and the broader financial community. “Tina is a well-respected, strategic thought leader in the financial industry who has an excellent track record in navigating multifaceted financial services companies, leading strategic financial initiatives and fostering meaningful relationships with the investor community,” said Lincoln Financial Group executive VP, chief financial officer Chris Neczypor.
