Barnard College appoints Natalie Raabe as VP for strategic communications. Raabe comes to Barnard after having worked nearly a decade at The New Yorker, most recently as VP, communications. She previously served as VP, communications at NBC News, communications director for The Atlantic and director of publicity at ABC News. Raabe’s hire comes amidst an overall senior staff reshuffle that has also included the appointment of Serena Longley as Barnard’s new VP and general counsel. “As Vice President for Strategic Communications at Barnard, Natalie will bring deep expertise in strategy and media relations to the communications team and act as the official spokesperson for the College,” Barnard president Laura Rosenbury wrotein a May 10 email to faculty and administrative staff obtained by the Columbia Spectator.

Austermehle most recently served as CMO for Constructor, an AI product discovery platform designed for ecommerce retailers. She has also held marketing leadership roles at Salsify, a product experience management platform, and Brandwatch, a consumer intelligence and social media management platform. “Courtney brings over a decade of go-to-market growth experience, SaaS expertise, and a strong focus on leadership best practices for enterprise organizations,” said Q4 Inc. founder and CEO Darrell Heaps. “Her breadth of knowledge across the full marketing stack will be a welcome addition to the team.”

Rottmann comes to the company from White Oak Partners, where he served as managing director, capital markets. He was previously a director at Rockpoint Group and VP, global client relations at Prologis.
