Scott Radcliffe, who did a nearly four-year stint on Apple’s corporate communications team in Austin, has joined FleishmanHillard as global director of cybersecurity.
He will oversee the Omnicom unit’s Cybersecurity Center of Excellence and report to Tim O'Keeffe, FH's global managing director of technology.
Prior to Apple, Radcliffe served as FH senior VP and its leading global data privacy and security specialist, and was a member of Team Dell at WPP.
The West Point graduate began his career in the U.S. Army where he tackled cybersecurity challenges while working under the Multi-National Corps-Iraq commanding general. He also ran for Congress in 2008.
Radcliffe said it’s critical for every business to be as prepared as possible for a cyberattack and to understand how to navigate through that moment should an incident occur.
Businesses also must “better educate their customers and employees about how they can more securely interact with an organization's network and protect their data,” he added.

Cybersecurity PR, when executed well, is an essential tool for fostering transparency, promoting best practices and ensuring that the public feels secure in the hands of technology providers.
Gone are the days when the person hacking into your company’s data is sitting alone in a dark basement. More than likely the culprit is a sophisticated and organized threat actor.
FTI Consulting has hired Brian Boetig, a 24-year veteran of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as senior managing director in its cybersecurity unit.
Many PR agencies have shifted to remote work, and implemented Bring Your Own Device, hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure approach. This shift has left them open to cybercriminals.
