Smiley most recently founded and led his own public affairs firm, where he advised C-suite and nonprofit leaders. He has also worked on campaigns including Ray McGuire’s run for NYC mayor in 2021 and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) in her successful 2018 re-election bid. Sandy previously served as communications director for Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY) and the New York City Department of Probation, in addition to working on the press team for Biden-Harris 2020 in North Carolina and Hillary for America in Northern Nevada. “Their wealth of experience providing exceptional counsel to some of the most prominent national and global elected leaders as well as C-suite and nonprofit executives will be invaluable to our clients” said Mercury partner Charlie King.

Steiny joins the firm from HUNTER, where she held a variety of positions, most recently as VP, entertainment & sports. In her new position, she is tasked with growing VOX’s first official endorsements department, managing celebrity endorsement deals and projects for a celebrity client roster with than 200 clients, including J.K. Simmons, George Takei, Flea and Iggy Pop. “Peri has a market insight informed by both the rep and buyer side of the equation,” said VOX, Inc.
