Kevin Foley, founder/chairman of KEF Media and a long-time contributor to odwyerpr.com, died June 6 after a brief illness. He was 70.
After stints at Ketchum and Burson-Marsteller, Foley launched KEF in 1986 as one of the few firms that focused largely on broadcast PR. He served blue-chip clients such as Coca-Cola, Amazon, Hilton and Visa.
Foley stepped down as CEO of KEF Media last year. He was succeeded by Yvonne Hanak, a 23-year veteran of the firm.
Kev was a good friend and will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his wife, Sue; daughter, Katie; son, Patrick; and with the staff of KEF Media.

Frank Ramos, who headed the PR department for the doomed-to-fail New York Jets for 39 years, died on Jan. 27. He was 87.

Andy Stanton, who was director of finance at Stanton PR, died Nov. 12 in New York. He was 39.
Kassie Canter, a media and entertainment PR veteran, died October 24 in New York. She was 67.
Leo Pearlstein, the “king of culinary PR,” died on Sept. 10 in Los Angeles at the age of 104.
