The Rhode Island School of Design names Sofiya Cabalquinto, currently the chief communications officer at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, as chief marketing and communications officer, effective July 15. Before coming to Harvard, Cabalquinto served as AVP of communications and marketing at Emerson College and senior director of communications at Wellesley College. “I was impressed by the depth and relevance of Sofiya’s experience and her passion for both our mission and our commitment to making RISD more accessible,” said RISD president Crystal Williams. “She has helped prestigious higher education institutions strengthen their reputation, connect with important audiences, amplify the voices and work of their community members and navigate complex situations.”

Wrike, an intelligent work management platform, appoints Christine Royston as CMO. Royston joins Wrike from online learning and teaching marketplace Udemy, where she served as VP and global head of marketing for the company’s business organization. Before that, she was VP and head of marketing at URL shortening service and link management platform Bitly. “Christine has an extensive background and proven track record in leading global marketing strategies that transform and scale organizations. I am confident she will be a great strategic partner, advocate for our customers, and a fantastic mentor for Wrikers across the marketing team and beyond,” said Wrike CEO Thomas Scott.

GingerMay, a London-based agency focused on integrated B2B tech PR and communications, promotes Amy Lawrence to deputy managing director and Kirsty Langan to practice head: emerging technologies. Both have been with the agency for a decade. Lawrence has most recently served as head of PR. In her new role, she will be tasked with managing business performance and continued client success, while also implementing frameworks to allow the team’s talent to thrive. Langan, who was previously head of client services, will focus on business growth within emerging tech sectors, including cleantech and AI, as well as excellence in client delivery.
