Rational 360 is helping to defeat New York Congressman Jamaal Bowman in what is shaping up to be the most expensive House primary race in history.

The 48-year-old Bowman, a left-wing Democrat, is squaring off against 70-year-old George Latimer, a moderate who is county executive of Westchester.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee has targeted Bowman, who condemned Hamas’ Oct. 7 invasion of Israel, for his staunch support of the Palestinians in the war in Gaza. “I can’t stomach the bombing of children,” Bowman said in an interview. “It’s cruel. It’s inhumane. It’s evil.”

AIPAC has spent more than $12M via its United Democracy Project super PAC to bankroll advertising in support of Latimer.

That spending, according to Rational 360 CEO Patrick Dorton, is designed “to shine a spotlight on Jamaal Bowman’s atrocious anti-Israel record.”

Dorton told O’Dwyer’s that DC-based Rational 360 has represented AIPAC since 2004. He serves as a spokesperson for the United Democracy Project.

AIPAC also has been Latimer’s top campaign bundler, amassing $2.5M in cash, compared to Bowman’s $1M.

Bowman is a former middle-school principal who defeated long-time Israel supporter Eliot Engel in the 2020 Democratic primary.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and NYC Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez support Bowman in his race against Latimer.

She said the race “exemplifies the battle, frankly, for our democracy, between everyday people choosing their representation and big money coming in and choosing it for them.”
