U.S. Soccer names Catherine Newman as CMO. Newman joins the organization from the WWE, where she served as EVP of marketing. Before that she was the first-ever CMO for Manchester United. In her new post, Newman will lead the federation’s efforts around brand development, including meaningful storytelling and content, digital and social engagement, overarching insight-driven marketing, and a diversified direct-to-consumer strategy. “Catherine brings a proven track record of results-driven marketing and a deep understanding of the fan and the fan journey,” said U.S. Soccer chief commercial officer, David Wright.

Nissan names Jeff Pope to succeed Scott Shirley, who is retiring, as chief marketing manager & marketing operations, effective Aug. 1. Pope is currently division vice president, dealer network development, customer resources and training, Nissan & INFINITI, U.S. and Canada, He served in a variety of position at Nissan and Infiniti before that, including group VP at Inifiniti Americas. In his new position, Pope will be responsible for leading Nissan's marketing operations teams, including vehicle pricing, incentives and lifecycle plans.

Bob’s Red Mill, an employee-owned natural foods company, hires Daniel Barba as VP of marketing. Barba was most recently founder of marketing services company The Idea Nursery. He previously held a variety of roles at The Coca-Cola Co., including vice president of marketing for the West zone in the North America operating unit, brand lead for vitaminwater, and general manager and head of marketing for Zico Beverages. At Bob’s Red Mill, he will focus on new product innovation and market growth. “Daniel’s extensive experience in CPG innovation, combined with his strategic and consumer-driven approach, makes him an excellent addition,” said Bob’s Red Mill chief growth officer Allyson Borozan.
