The Personal Care Products Council has recruited Tesia Williams as EVP for public affairs and communications.
Most recently, Williams headed global media relations for Johnson & Johnson, and served as SVP crisis & risk at Edelman.
Earlier, Williams did a six-year stint as director of communications at the Department of Health & Human Services inspector general’s office. She also had an eight-year run in the public affairs office of the Army Corps of Engineers.
Williams has handled COVID-19 pandemic response, product safety issues, workforce diversity and inclusion challenges, critical supply shortages and the 9/11 Pentagon attack.
PCPC president Tom Myers called Williams a “strategy-first communications executive with more than 20 years of experience in protecting and elevating brands, building coalitions and leading large, multi-functional teams in a highly regulated industry.”
He said Williams has the experience to help member companies navigate the industry’s complex issues.
PCPC represents more than 600 companies in the cosmetics and personal care products industry. They account for about 90 percent of beauty market revenues.
