Joele Frank is working for Baton Rouge’s Bernhard Capital Partners as it acquires New Mexico Gas Co. from Halifax-headquartered Emera Inc.
The $1.3B deal includes assumption of about $500M in debt.
Emera acquired NMGC, which is the largest natural gas facility in The Land of Enchantment, in 2016.
It has invested about $800M to boost the reliability of its 12K miles of transmission and distribution pipeline network, and to promote growth in its 545K customer base.
Jeff Jenkins, BCP’s founder/partner, said the NMGC transacrtion “aligns with his strategy to invest in infrastructure assets and utilities that are critical in building more resilient communities.”
BCP has more than $4B in assets under management.
