Laura Cubillos, head of Padilla’s food, beverage & nutrition practice, is returning to Edelman (where she was an SVP from 2001 to 2005) to serve as global chair of the agency’s food and beverage sector, effective Aug. 26.
In 2006, Cubillos co-founded global food and nutrition agency FoodMinds, which was acquired by Padilla in 2015. She was previously director of business development, Latin America at WineryExchange and VP, group director at Porter Novelli.
At Padilla, she led the refresh of the team’s vision and strengthened its integrated marketing offerings along with insights, strategy and impact measurement capabilities for brand, commodity and start-up clients. She regularly convened and connected global food and beverage team members across Avenir Global, Padilla’s parent company.
In her new post, Cubillos will work to and develop Edelman’s food and beverage sector and its client portfolio globally, working with regional leaders to oversee its employees and provide strategic communications counsel to many of Edelman’s top clients.
“We see continued pressure on companies in this industry and change ahead and intend to scale our impact for our clients, so we are delighted to welcome Laura back to Edelman,” said Edelman president, global practices and sectors Alex Thompson. “She is a founder, a technical specialist, a strong commercial leader and puts people first. Her expertise and wayfinding intelligence is exactly what our clients will need more of in the years ahead.”
