The International Association of Business Communicators has published the first digital-only edition of its now-monthly Communication World magazine.
IABC is offering the magazine free for download through September, when a $12.99-per-issue ($119/year) subscription rate will kick in.
The print edition of the 50-year-old publication, previously bi-monthly, was scrapped in November amid an overhaul at the trade group, which included a major staff cut.
Natasha Nicholson, executive editor for CW, said the publication can now be viewed across multiple platforms – mobile, PC, tablet – immediately on publication, where overseas members sometimes waited weeks for issues to arrive. [An Android OS version is not yet available.]
Nicholson said each issue will carry a theme – May is "transmedia" – and readers and members are welcome to pitch content at [email protected].
The May edition is at http://cw.iabc.com/communicationworld/may_2013#pg1.
