Yogi Berra New York Yankees great and baseball legend Yogi Berra, who died on Tuesday at the age of 90, knew how to put fannies in the seats.

Berra was arguably the best catcher to ever play the game. He also had success as a manager, with both the Yankees and crosstown New York Mets.

However, for many people (and non-sports fans, in particular), the beloved Berra will be remembered for his witticism and endearing way with words.

So, in tribute to Berra, here are a handful of so-called Yogi-isms that PR folks can appreciate when it comes to managing the day-to-day operation and succeeding in business communications.

> A nickel ain’t worth a dime anymore.

> I tell the kids, somebody’s gotta win, somebody’s gotta lose. Just don’t fight about it. Just try to get better.

> It gets late early out here.

> We made too many wrong mistakes.

> The future ain’t what it used to be.

> You’ve got to be very careful if you don’t know where you are going, because you might not get there.

> It was impossible to get a conversation going, everybody was talking too much.

> I’m not going to buy my kids an encyclopedia. Let them walk to school like I did.

> You don’t have to swing hard to hit a home run. If you got the timing, it’ll go.
