R & J Public RelationsNJ-based agency R&J Public Relations today announced it has acquired boutique marketing communications firm Fifth Room Creative.

Denville, NJ-based Fifth Room Creative, which specializes in branding, graphic design and creative development, has moved into R&J’s Bridgewater offices as a result of the acquisition.

The integration of the two agencies has now prompted R&J to rebrand as R&J Strategic Communications. According to the agency in a statement, this rebranding reflects R&J’s expanded line of creative design and digital offerings; R&J's acquisition of Fifth Room now lends the agency an armory of new design and creative services capabilities, including logo and brand development, web design and email marketing services.

“We’re refreshing the brand so that it better represents what we’ve become, a full service strategic communications firm, able to fulfill the diverse needs of our growing client base,” said executive VP Scott Marioni in a statement. “As PR and communications continue to rapidly evolve, we are focused on embracing and mastering a broader array of communication disciplines and becoming wholly strategic in approach and execution.”

Fifth Room Creative principal and creative director Steve Guberman now assumes the new role of VP of creative and digital services at R&J, and will be responsible for leading the agency’s design team.
