New York-headquartered communications firm RF|Binder has appointed Scott Beaudoin as the agency’s chief strategy officer and executive managing director of corporate and brand purpose.

An award winning industry veteran, Beaudoin most recently led the global CSR & Sustainability practice at MSLGROUP, where he worked for nearly eight years and served as global practice director of corporate and brand citizenship. Previous stints include Schneider Associates andDeVries Public Relations, as well as a six-year tenure as cause branding VP at Cone.

In the new role, Beaudoin will play a critical role in expanding RF|Binder’s CSR and Sustainability practice, and will help brands utilize corporate and brand purpose strategies. He will work out of RF|Binder's Boston office.

Agency executives said Beaudoin's appointment is a strategic move by RF|Binder to expand purpose-driven strategies and corporate social responsibility efforts in the agency’s toolkit, practice areas that have grown steadily in recent years.

“We believe that there is a tremendous opportunity in the sustainability and CSR area. As impact investing continues to grow, companies are going to have to focus more of their attention on what they are doing in this area,” RF|Binder CEO Amy Binder said in a statement.

RF|Binder, which specializes in food/beverage, health, education and financial services, posted $12.7 million in 2014 net fees, according to O'Dwyer's rankings of PR firms.
