Calvin Mitchell, who held top communications posts with Credit Suisse, Thomas Reuters and the New York Fed, has joined KARV Communications as a senior advisor for the New York-based advisory firm.

Mitchell was global co-head of corporate comms. at Credit Suisse and global head of corporate affairs at Thomson Reuters. He also led public information for the New York Federal Reserve when Timothy Geithner was chair. In government, he served PR roles for the US Mission to the United Nations, the Treasury and State Departments, as well as the White House and National Security Council.
Karv president Andrew Frank cited Mitchell's ability to navigate complex crises and corporate communications challenges as key to his hire.
The firm also has operations in Los Angeles.
