Boston-based health and science firm LaVoieHealthScience has been named U.S. consumer PR agency of record for the forthcoming U.S. launch of a new product by hearing aid manufacturer Oticon Inc.
The account win follows a competitive RFP review process.
Oticon, which was founded in 1904, is the world’s second largest hearing device manufacturer. The Denmark-based company, which designs and manufactures hearing solutions for adults as well as specialized pediatric instruments, is set to launch its latest hearing aid technology in the U.S. market, Oticon Opn, which purports to provide improved speech understanding and reduce listening effort for those suffering from hearing loss. That product was introduced in the U.S. this year at The American Academy of Audiology's annual audiologist conference in Phoenix, AZ.
The LaVoie team will provide media relations support for the launch of Opn and will also deliver counsel on PR planning and content development, as well as relationship building with external organizations, audiology experts, patients and relevant events.
LaVoieHealthScience in 2015 accounted for more than $2.5 million in healthcare-related net fees, according to O'Dwyer's rankings of PR firms.
