Elizabeth Higashi, a veteran financial communications exec on the corporate and agency side, has been named VP of IR for Hertz Equipment Rental Corp., as parent Hertz Global Holdings prepares to spin off the unit as a publicly traded company this year.
Higashi is a former VP of IR for Horizon Pharma and principal at Sard Verbinnen & Co. in Chicago. She ran her own IR shop, Higashi Advisors, for the past four years. She also held in-house roles with IMCERA Group, SFN Companies and Times Mirror Co.
Hertz is finalizing the spinoff two years after first announcing plans to separate the operation, which serves oil and gas, industry and construction markets.
At HERC, Higashi reports to president and CEO Larry Silber based in Bonita Springs, Fla.
