St. Paul, MN-based boutique agency Beehive PR has rebranded as Beehive Strategic Communication.
The agency in a statement said the new moniker reflects a renewed focus on corporate social responsibility and communication strategies for purpose-driven businesses.
"As more people are consciously choosing brands that support their needs, values and beliefs, businesses are seeing the need to meet rising expectations,” said CEO and founder Lisa Hannum. “When purpose, strategy and communication align, businesses create sustainable growth and value for their customers. When businesses do better, the world does better.”
Beehive, which was founded in 1998, specializes in consumer, healthcare, education and professional and financial services. Clients include Associated Bank, Verizon, University of Minnesota Health, Coloplast, Deluxe Corporation, Christopher & Banks and Rasmussen College.
The agency in 2015 accounted for more than $3.8 million in net fees, revealing growth of 41.5 percent from the year prior, according to O’Dwyer’s rankings of PR firms.

Most Americans believe companies should remain neutral on political and social issues, but new findings suggest that a growing number now think it's appropriate for brands to make political statements and to take a similar stand on racial-justice issues.
Support for corporate social responsibility initiatives among public relations professionals has declined consistently each year for the past three years, according to the latest USC Global Communications Report.
True purpose-driven marketing isn’t about a one-off campaign. It’s about embedding values into the core of business operations. It's ensuring that marketing reflects genuine actions. It’s thoughtfully executed, authentic storytelling.
