The Albany Capital Center, the 82,000-square-foot convention center slated to open next March, has engaged Baker PR as AOR, following an RFP process.
Albany-based Baker will guide strategic communications pre-launch as well as for the March 22 launch of the $66.5M center, which was first conceived in 1994 to fill a dearth of convention space in the New York State capital. The firm will also develop a long-term marketing and communications strategy.
Facility manager SMG will run the center and chose Baker from the field of PR firms.
"Baker PR demonstrated a strong understanding of our goals and delivered creative and strategic thinking that will help us communicate with multiple stakeholders in a meaningful way," said SMG regional GM Bob Belber.
Baker is led by former TV news anchor Megan Baker.
