Scottie Rodgers, who led sports communications for the Ivy League, has moved to Tulane University as associate athletic director for strategic communications.
He takes over for Roger Dunaway, who stepped down last month after 10 years for the assistant director of PR slot on Tulane's campus..
Rodgers will lead media and public relations, social media and overall communications for the New Orleans university and its Green Wave athletic program.
Rodgers, a Univ. of Alabama grad, spent the last year at the Ivy League Office, handling communications strategy for its 33 sports and 15 championship events.
Earlier, he handled university relations as senior director for CBS Sports Digital and worked in the NCAA's national office.
Tulane atheltic director Troy Dannen said in a statement that the school's emphasis on communications is changing. "While sports information and media relations continues to be an important component of our communications strategy, the ability to communicate all of our departmental activities and interests through video and social media to a national audience of constituents, and importantly recruits, is key to our long term success in this area," he said, praising Rodgers' experience in that realm.
