David Castelveter, a veteran government and private sector communicator, has moved to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to direct its office of public affairs.
He takes over for Eliot Brenner, who retired last month after 12 years at the federal agency. Castelveter reports directly to NRC Chairman Stephen Burns and serves as agency spokesman, among other duties based in Rockville, Md.
He was previously deputy assistant administrator of the US Transportation Security Administration's office of strategic communications and public affairs.
He also served as VP for communications at the Air Transport Association of America and managing director of corporate communications for US Airways Group.
