APCO Worldwide has appointed James Robinson managing director of its Shanghai office.

Robinson was formerly SVP and senior director of APCO’s New York location, where he spent more than a decade and managed high-profile accounts such as PepsiCo, Microsoft and the Clinton Global Initiative and also led that firm’s global sustainability practice.
Robinson joined the PR giant in 2001 and worked as an associate director in APCO’s Beijing office before climbing to the role of vice president seven years later. He also spent a year in the firm’s Jakarta office.
As managing director of its Shanghai office, Robinson will lead APCO’s staff of 25 in that city and will also counsel and support its clients.
