APCO Worldwide has named W. Allen Shapard as sr. director, chair of public engagement strategies. The firm is looking to expand its corporate responsibility and social impact servcies.

Shapard comes over from entertainment, sports and fashion marketing powerhouse WME|IMG where he was sr. VP, global partnerships. While there he provided counsel to Alwaleed Philanthropies, BP, Volvo, UNHCR and Cantor Fitzgerald. He started out in 1996 as VP and associate general counsel.

“Throughout his career, Allen has established a proven track record as an effective brand marketing and strategic communications expert,” Nelson Fernandez, chairman, North America and managing director of APCO's New York office, said in welcoming Allen to the APCO team.
