GOP tax veteran Paul Poteet has been hired by Democratic lobbying giant Glover Park Group to serve as a managing director in the firm’s government relations practice.

Poteet joins the Washington, D.C.-based firm from the office of Senator John Thune (R-SD), where he most recently served as senior policy advisor and tax and trade counsel. Prior to that he was managing director of federal government relations for biotechnology trade group the Biotechnology Industry Association. He began his career as a senior policy advisor to Rep. Wally Herger (R-CA).
At Glover Park, Poteet will provide the firm political and legislative counsel regarding tax, trade and finance policy within the Republican leadership.
