Nina Smith, director of media relations at Megaphone Strategies in Washington, D.C., has told the Washington Free Beacon it is working with electors on both sides of the political aisle who do not plan on voting for Trump Dec. 19.
Megaphone was co-founded by CNN political contributor Van Jones and progressive PR pro Molly Haigh. It bills itself as a “social justice media strategy firm run for purpose, not profit.”
The piece notes that Chris Suprun, Republican presidential elector from Texas, directed all media inquiries in his Twitter bio to Megaphone.
Suprun penned an opinion piece for the New York Times on Monday explaining why he will not cast his vote for Trump.
Another presidential elector, Michael Baca, is also being represented by Megaphone. He’s said he’ll cast a vote for Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
”Conversations with many other Electors, both Republican and Democratic, indicate that many more are coming forward to reject Trump in the days ahead,” says a press release from the firm.
